Use This Advice For A Great Camping Trip

Camping is a vacation option that should not be overlooked. If you’re just going to go out for one night, or a long time, it’s important to plan properly. The information shared in this article will allow you to have an enjoyable camping trip of any length.

Bring a large trash bag for dirtied laundry, and keep it in a central location, suitable for everyone in your party. Let them pack their clothing individually, as this makes it much easier to find than if you pile it all in a community storage box or bag. Toss in a dryer sheet to any bag you want smelling fresh.

Those big, colorful plastic storage bins make excellent places to store and organize all of your camping gear. While at home, keep it in a closet or the garage and right before you leave for your camping trip, pop it in the trunk. It should keep everything air-tight, dry and easily accessible.

Make sure your survival kit is available on a constant basis. Your survival kit needs to have water-purifying tablets, a type of survival knife, a first-aid kit, a flare gun, and waterproof matches. Your kit may be all that stands between you and certain death if you become lost, as the items within it are essential to survival. Always carry this pack with you instead of leaving it at the campsite.

Before you leave on your trip, use your backyard to help you work out the kinks in your camping equipment. Put up your tent to make sure you know (or remember!) how to put it up. This will also allow you to see if anything needs to be patched up. It will make it that much easier for you when you get to the campsite.

When planning for your camping trip, don’t forget to pack the sunscreen. Just because you are not on the beach doesn’t mean that you don’t need protection from the sun’s burning rays. A sport sunscreen can be a smart choice if you will be doing strenuous physical activities during your trip.

Camping can be very dangerous or fun depending on whether you’re prepared or not. Only go camping when you have prepared yourself for it. If you’re visiting a new location, be sure to research its wildlife, climate, and geography.

Dryer lint makes surprisingly good kindling for starting campfires. Before you go camping, start saving lint from the dryer’s filter. Simply use a plastic grocery sack to collect each new crop of lint. As such, you’ll have kindling ready whenever you are.

Be certain your camp fire is completely out before you leave a campsite. To your eye it may seem like the fire is gone, but stir the ashes with a stick and you may find burning embers. Pour enough water and keep stirring until you see no more embers in the fire pit.

Be certain you have everything you will need before embarking on your adventure. You don’t need to forget something important like your sleeping bag or tent. In order to ensure that this does not happen, make a checklist before you head out and cross off the items as you pack them.

Bugs do not like fire at all, so it is a good idea to keep your fire burning all night while you are sleeping. If you find that there is a huge bug problem during the day, it would help to keep a fire burning at that time as well.

Do you feel more prepared to go camping? It is obvious that there are things that need planning for a stay in the wild no matter the length of time the adventure. Get start now, and you will be very glad that you did.
